Connections 2026: Bringing tenants and our wider community together

15 June 2026

On the 4th of June, we hosted Connections 2026, our third JBD-wide tenant event. Held every two years, it brings our community together to build new connections and strengthen existing relationships. It was a fantastic day, with tenants from across all our buildings joining volunteers, trustees and house managers.

Sessions focused on how values of community and belonging show up in JBD buildings. Attendees shared their experiences of community life, highlighting the importance of belonging, inclusivity and giving back in ways big and small. This year, it also coincided with National Volunteers’ Week, providing an opportunity to celebrate the important contribution of our tenant and external volunteers.

Aidan, our Director of Housing Management & Community Services, presented the results of our annual tenant satisfaction survey, which showed consistently strong performance:

  • 95% of tenants are satisfied overall, with 61% very satisfied
  • 96.5% satisfaction with the 24-hour house manager service
  • 95.5% satisfaction with repairs
  • Over 93% say their home meets their needs and supports independent living

Whilst a few scores dipped slightly from last year, overall satisfaction remains high, with JBD continuing to outperform national averages reported by the Regulator of Social Housing (RSH). In particular, the results demonstrated how highly tenants value the support of house managers and the maintenance team.

Overall, Connections 2026 was a meaningful and successful day of reflection and celebration, with tenants especially appreciating the opportunity to meet others and share their experiences. The general feedback from the day was overwhelmingly positive, with the event being described by attendees as “enjoyable,” “interesting” and “rewarding.”
