We know we have a role to play in educating people to create a more inclusive and supportive society. Attitudes towards people with disabilities have improved in recent times but there is still a long way to go
We are committed to helping prevent physical disabilities and sight loss by raising awareness of key risk factors such as type 2 diabetes and prediabetes. Our educational sessions, led by expert speakers, provide practical guidance on healthy lifestyles, early intervention and prevention to support long-term health and wellbeing.

To increase awareness and understanding about vision impairment and its impact, we run educational sessions that provide an opportunity to learn about some of the challenges of sight loss, how it impacts daily life and hear from individuals with first-hand experience.
Our interactive educational sessions can be offered to your Synagogue or community group.
They aim to give attendees a better understanding of how they can live independently, what is available to help and how simple changes can make a big difference to those living with disabilities.
A member of our team will facilitate a session and share practical tips and advice on supporting people with physical disabilities or vision impairment to remain independent and safe in their own home. During the session, attendees can view a selection of aids to help with daily tasks and engage in friendly discussion.
“It was incredibly helpful to hear real-life scenarios and learn the best ways to guide someone with sight loss. It gave me a real insight into how overwhelming it can be for someone with vision impairment in a crowded space and I am hoping to implement some changes straight away.”
“Your presentation about the Occupational Therapy Service was deeply interesting and very valuable. Our members appreciated learning about the importance of independent living and the various aids and tools available to enhance their quality of life and keep them safe.”
