Diabetes Demystified: Community Survey and Events

24 April 2026

With type 2 diabetes on the rise and many people unaware they may be at risk, we are launching a community-wide survey to help shape future support and initiatives that JBD can offer.

We are aware that many of our tenants have type 2 diabetes, however you don’t need to have diabetes to take part in this survey. Whether you’re keen to learn more for your own wellbeing, support a loved one, or simply want to help shape something useful for the community, your views are very welcome.

We encourage as many of you as possible to complete the survey which won’t take more than five minutes. The survey can be completed online at: https://www.surveyhero.com/c/apabx7uc.

Alongside this, we are running a campaign in partnership with the Jewish News to provide people in the community with the right information to prevent or manage the condition effectively. If you, or anyone you know are happy to talk to our Marketing Team or the press about living with diabetes, please contact Jess Cohen at jess@jbd.org or 020 4548 8678.

We are also running two ‘Diabetes Demystified’ events, one in Mill Hill on the 2nd of June and one in Woodford on the 18th of June. Attendees will be able to hear from field experts Dr Bernard Freudenthal – Endocrinologist, Ruth Kander – Dietician and Dr Zanne Lewis – GP Partner. For more information or to sign up, please visit https://www.jbd.org/event/diabetes-demystified/.

If you aren’t able to sign up online or have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact Toni Lewis at toni@jbd.org or 020 8371 6611 ext 620.
