Creating Warm & Welcoming Communities

One of the life changing benefits of living in one of our buildings is the opprtunity to be part of a warm and welcoming Jewish community. There is always someone around if you fancy a chat or some company and you also have the privacy of their own mobility apartment when this is what you prefer.

As part of enabling independence, dignity and choice we actively encourage our tenants to organise events in their buildings. Our wonderful volunteers are delighted to support tenant-led events as well as offering some of their own. They also help us to organise celebrations of all the major Festivals including Purim & Chanukah parties, Shavuot cream teas, Tu b'Shvat fruit tea and events in the Succah among others.

The events available in each building depend on the preferences of the tenants who live there, currently these include:

  • art & sculpture club
  • keep fit
  • guest speakers
  • spud lunches
  • Indian brunches
  • film nights
  • quizzes
  • regular get togethers over tea and cake

In addition to the opportunity to get together in the communal areas, we also provide friendly visitors for tenants who may not have any friends or family living nearby and who wish to have someone visit them in their apartment.
