Why we need your help

One in every five people suffer from a physical disability or vision impairment. For many this comes as a shocking and often totally unexpected diagnosis that can feel like a sentence to a life of dependency and loss of self worth. We are dedicated to ensuring that this does not happen by enabling people in this position to live independently with dignity and choice. As a completely independent charity that receives no government funding we are extremely  grateful to our supporters and their much appreciated contribution to our unique and vital facilities. We strive to keep our overheads as low as possible and we are, therefore, always grateful to those who give of their time as well as to those who donate essential funds.

  • Donate Money

It is only thanks to our generous supporters that we are able to continue to enhance and expand our unique facilities. As our waiting lists continue to grow your donation will enable us to give that precious key to independence to even more people who have no other organisation to whom they can turn.
  • Share Your Celebration

If you are planning a simcha this year, and would prefer that your guests did not buy you presents, why not make this a double celebration by asking instead for donations in honour of the occasion to be made to Jewish Blind & Disabled.
  • Become a Young Patron

For £21 a month (£250 pa) our Young Patrons not only make a real difference to our tenants’ lives, they can also make a difference to the future of the charity itself as our Young Patrons are our future.
  • Sign Up a PETron

Sign up your precious pet to be a PETron of the charity for only £60 a year he or she will receive a handpicked toy, an ‘I’m a Petron’ ID tag, a personalised certificate and they will also have their photo displayed on our website. Even more important, they will be part of giving someone a whole new lease of life as their ‘petronage’ will go toward funding our vital and unique facilities.

Click on the link below to register and select PETron sign up from the Purpose of Donation drop down menu.
  • Leave a Legacy

One in five people suffer from physical disability or impaired vision. For many this comes as a shocking and unexpected diagnosis that can feel like a sentence to a life of dependence and loss of self worth.

You can change this by leaving the legacy of independence.
  • Give Your Time

There are many ways in which you can make a significant difference to the unique work that the charity does in the community, either by volunteering to help with tenants in our buildings or by supporting head office staff.
  • Support a Challenge

There are many challenges throughout the year from a leisurely 1km Fun Run to a full marathon, as well as bike rides, climbs, dances etc. However, if you preference is for spectating you could always sponsor someone who is taking part.

  • Join a Committee

We are always looking for people to join one of our existing committees, or to set up a new one, to help organise events and activities that not only raise essential funds but that also often involve new people in the charity.
  • Collect on Our Behalf

Clubs, schools, organisations and even groups of friends often collect money on our behalf. We are very grateful to all these people and are very happy to support anyone who would like to do this with collecting boxes, Jewish Blind & Disabled t-shirts, brochures, pens etc.
