Resident House Managers

The provision of 24 hour a day, seven days a week on site support from our resident house managers is a vital element of the unique facilities that only we offer. Each of our buildings has its own special community atmosphere and in addition to giving assistance as and when required, our house managers are also central to their communities.

Every building has two House Managers who live on site and who provide 24 hour cover, seven days a week, 365 days a year. They act as good neighbours, assisting when necessary and keeping a caring eye on our tenants. They call round all tenants every morning and every evening to check that everything is ok, unless requested not to do so, and this helps give peace of mind not just to the tenants but to their families as well.

With their First Aid training, the House Managers are on hand to assist with emergencies. They also benefit from a rolling programme of professional training provided by the Tenant Support Team staff or by outside consultants.

The House Managers are also very involved in the arrangements for, and running of, all social activities within their buildings.

"Having my own apartment means that I can shut the door on the world whenever I choose. Because the flat's mine I have been able to decorate it as I like and fill it with my personal belongings. My disabilities mean that I need support and my fear had been that I might end up in a home, instead of which I have a home of my own - my own flat of which I am very proud.”
