Tenant support team
Jewish Blind & Disabled has a dedicated Tenant Support Team. Their role is to help tenants maximise their independence and maintain the ability to live in their self contained flat for as long as possible within the confines of their disability.

Emotional Support
Supported by the House Managers, our professional Tenant Support Team respond quickly and effectively at times of stress and anxiety. The team is able to provide short term emotional support and refer on to appropriate professionals as necessary.
Benefits advice
Our Tenant Support & Benefit Co-ordinator helps incoming and established tenants to complete forms and claim for any benefits to which they are entitled. Advice can be given on various aspects of benefit claims as well as access to grants and holidays designed for disabled people. Our advisers visit our buildings regularly and liaise closely with our House Managers, who update them on the changing needs of our tenants.
Tenancy management
All incoming tenants and their families receive support throughout their move to a Jewish Blind & Disabled building from our Tenant Support Team. Care packages that incoming tenants may need are identified and the Team liaise with appropriate bodies and local authorities to ensure that these are organised for the start of each tenancy.
Working with other agencies
The Tenant Support Team works closely with local social services departments, health professionals, hospitals, day centres and various specialist agencies as required to meet the individual needs of tenants.
Disability awareness
In partnership with local schools and voluntary groups, Jewish Blind & Disabled staff provide disability awareness training to people of all ages.
