k-9 volunteer for JBD

Volunteer Louise White and her guide dog Pippin recently took to the road to begin their Education Programme.

Along with Fundraising Executive, Gemma Brown, they have been visiting schools in the North London area to spread the word about Jewish Blind & Disabled and to educate children about disabilities.

Louise, who sadly lost her sight a number of years ago, together with Pippin, volunteer for the charity. Visiting schools Louise talks to children about the needs as a blind person, and how Jewish Blind & Disabled provides independent living for members of the community with vision impairment or a physical disability.

To date, Louise and Pippin have visited five schools including; The Independent, Hasmonean, Hillel Wolfson, Matilda Marks Kennedy and Karem, talking to classes and demonstrating various aids Louise uses to help her in her every day life.

Louise and Pippin are already planning their next visits and may be visiting a school near you. For more information about the charity and Louise and Pippin's school visits contact 020 8371 6611.
