£30,000 raised as Esther Rantzen CBE lunches with JBD
Jewish Blind & Disabled were honoured to welcome guest speaker Esther Rantzen CBE at their Ladies Lunch at the Hendon Hall Hotel.
The charity catered for 200 ladies at their annual charity lunch where guests were welcomed with a champagne and canapee reception followed by a delicious meal and an inspirational speech by Esther Rantzen CBE.
Esther spoke about her recent experiences of her election campaign and gave an amusing insight into various television programmes she has worked on including Strictly Come Dancing and I'm A Celebrity, Get Me Out Of Here.
Over £30,000 was raised at the lunch as ladies watched a short film about Jewish Blind & Disabled, followed by an address by Chief Executive, Hazel Kaye. This included the fantastic raffle total of £2,500 where prizes included; a mid week stay at Bovey Castle, weekend stay at Hendon Hall Hotel, and tickets for Jonathan Ross.
Hazel Kaye comments:
"We are delighted and honoured to have Esther Rantzen CBE speak at our Ladies Lunch this year. She is such an inspiration to many and holds a wealth of experience in charity and community work. I would like to say thank you again to Esther and to all our ladies who helped make our lunch such a successful fundraising event."
