Joel's story

As a young man with cerebal palsy, affecting movement in his right hand and leg, and impairing his speech, Joel didn't enjoy much independence.

He couldn't see a future where he could live on his own and look after himself. Since moving to a specially designed flat within one of Jewish Blind & Disabled's assisted living buildings, Joel has made plenty of friends and has really settled in.

Joel loves computers, spends hours on the internet and is aiming to work in IT one day. He currently volunteers at the newly built IT room at Aztec House, where Joel trains tenants in basic IT skills.
