Can you imagine what it's like... it's like... to not be
able to bathe yourself?
it's like... to be unable to cook
without risking an accident?
it's like... to feel like you are living
in solitary confinement?
The evidence is clear, you can help tear down the barriers to independence.

On Sunday 19th May, our Young Patron Board hosted a fabulous Tea Dance for Jewish Blind & Disabled tenants at Milne Court in South Woodford, kindly sponsored by Sharon’s Bakery in Edgware.

In addition to enjoying the delicious sandwiches prepared and served by our Young Patron Board, the tenants ‘quite literally’ had a ball – not letting disabilities get in the way of dancing the afternoon away!

Paula Legge, Young Patron Board member said:

“It was so lovely seeing the tenants dressed up, having a dance and just enjoying the atmosphere. Great fun was had by everyone - tenants, staff and Jewish Blind & Disabled Young Patrons!”

Marilyn Haft, Volunteer Coordinator said:

“Jewish Blind & Disabled Young Patrons brought smiles and laughter to Milne Court. Seeing our tenants dance was great and our Young Patrons made sure that those who had to remain seated were not left out and danced the afternoon away with them. 45 tenants, patrons, an entertainer and good food led to one of the most successful events held at the building.”

Thank you to our Young Patron Board, Marilyn Haft and Derek Fisher for their kind support with our volunteering day.
