Jewish Blind & Disabled would like to say congratulations to Andrew, Katie and Mark Passer together with Adam Axelrod- Harash and Jessica Howard for completing the Yorkshire Three Peaks challenge in 13 hours.

Mark says “Although it was called the Three Peaks Challenge, we didn’t actually realise how challenging the walk would be until we reached the third mountain Pen-y-gwent. Bright sunshine accompanied us during the climb and descent of Ingleborough and Wernside. However as we started Pen-y-gwent the torrential rain started, accompanied by gale-force winds and fog. This wasn’t great for our morale (or Katie and Jess’ hair) but we soldiered on and eventually reached the summit in 11 hours 30! The feeling of elation was incredible, only being slightly dampened by the water trickling through our so-called waterproofs and, most important of all; we raised around £3,750 for a fantastic cause!”

Undertaking a challenge like this is such a wonderful achievement. If you would like to take part in a challenge or would like more information then please email Danielle or call 020 8371 6611.

"Having my own apartment means that I can shut the door on the world whenever I choose. Because the flat's mine I have been able to decorate it as I like and fill it with my personal belongings. My disabilities mean that I need support and my fear had been that I might end up in a home, instead of which I have a home of my own - my own flat of which I am very proud.”
