Can you imagine what it's like... it's like... to not be
able to bathe yourself?
it's like... to be unable to cook
without risking an accident?
it's like... to feel like you are living
in solitary confinement?
The evidence is clear, you can help tear down the barriers to independence.

Meet Jewish Blind & Disabled’s Marathon Men

Rob Dyan and Josh Nathan.

We are proud to introduce you to our London Marathon runners for 2017 both of whom will be competing in the 26.2 mile race on April 23 to raise money which will support our work.

Josh, whose dad Malcolm Nathan lives in Jewish Blind & Disabled's Frances & Dick James Court, said: “Just two years ago the thought of running even one mile was painful. Yet, here I am now, going on lengthy early morning and late night runs to prepare for the London Marathon.

“Committing to do this was a very hard decision, but knowing who I am doing it for has made it easier. I wanted to be able to give something back to Jewish Blind & Disabled, a special place that does so much for so many including my dad. Seeing him living independently with dignity has meant so much to me and my family and this is a way that I can say thank you to an amazing charity.”

Rob added: “Jewish Blind & Disabled enables adults of all ages, who are physically disabled or vision impaired, to live independently in their own mobility apartment, with round the clock on-site support. It's the fact that I'm raising money for this fantastic cause, which gives me the motivation to get up and train on icy and wet days… when staying in bed often seems so much more appealing.
