Can you imagine what it's like... it's like... to not be
able to bathe yourself?
it's like... to be unable to cook
without risking an accident?
it's like... to feel like you are living
in solitary confinement?
The evidence is clear, you can help tear down the barriers to independence.

The new Mayor of Barnet was welcomed to Frances & Dick James Court by Jewish Blind & Disabled chairman John Joseph, president Malcolm Ozin MBE and head of tenancy support & house management Karen Zeff.

The visit comes just weeks after Councillor Mark Shooter was sworn into office as the 51st Mayor of Barnet.

The Mayor admired the unique facilities, in particular the specially designed mobility apartments and the support given to the tenants, who are all either physically disabled or visually impaired, by resident house managers who are on call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

John Joseph was delighted to show Mayor Shooter around the facility “It was a fantastic opportunity to showcase the importance of independent apartment living and illustrate how much that independence means to our tenants. We’re delighted that the Mayor is taking such an interest in our work so early into his appointment.”

In touring Head Office, the Mayor met other members of the support network which helps Jewish Blind & Disabled tenants live their lives independently.
