Can you imagine what it's like... it's like... to not be
able to bathe yourself?
it's like... to be unable to cook
without risking an accident?
it's like... to feel like you are living
in solitary confinement?
The evidence is clear, you can help tear down the barriers to independence.

Our latest develpment in Bushey Heath is on schedule to open in the second half of 2012 providing an additional 41 state-of-the-art mobility apartments for the many in real and urgent need on our waiting lists.

39 of the one bedroom apartments will be designed to enable anyone from the age of 18 upwards, who has physical disabilities or impaired vision, to live independently with the dignity of choice that is so easy for others to take for granted. The other two apartments will be allocated to the full time on site house managers whose constant availability provides such reassurance both for the tenants themselves and for their families. There will also be a guest suite for visiting family or friends.

As with all our developments, this location has been selected with great care. Not only will it meet an urgent need in our community for Jewish Blind & Disabled’s unique service in this area, but it will also ensure that future tenants will have easy access to vital facilities such as shops, doctor’s surgery, local transport and the synagogue.

Each spacious apartment will consist of a bedroom with fitted wardrobes, a comfortable living room with open plan fitted kitchen and an easy access wet floor shower room with call chords and intercom system throughout
