Can you imagine what it's like... it's like... to not be
able to bathe yourself?
it's like... to be unable to cook
without risking an accident?
it's like... to feel like you are living
in solitary confinement?
The evidence is clear, you can help tear down the barriers to independence.

17 walkers took part in our Annual Sunrise Walk with three doing the full marathon, 10 the three-quarter marathon and the rest the half marathon. The full marathon walkers set off at 4.30 am from the Tower of London and were met in Westminster at 6.30 by the three-quarter walkers.

All the walkers finished at Frances & Dick James Court, the Jewish Blind & Disabled development in Mill Hill East where they had a well earned brunch and were presented with their medals and certificates by chief executive Hazel Kaye who thanked them saying “Physical disability or impaired vision means that all of our tenants face challenges on a daily basis, from making a cup of tea to being able to go in and out of their own front door with ease. The wonderful support that you have given us through the fantastic challenge that you have taken on today will help us to continue to make these essential everyday tasks easy and accessible so that disability need not be a barrier to living independently behind your own front door.”

To date our amazing walkers have raised nearly £20,000 with more coming in all the time.

Time to start training now for next year's walk on Sunday 22nd May 2016!
