Share Your Celebration

If you are planning a simcha this year, and would prefer that your guests did not buy you presents, why not make this a double celebration by asking instead for donations in honour of the occasion to be made to Jewish Blind & Disabled. These donations will help to give someone who is physically disabled or vision impaired one of the most precious gifts of all – their own personal key to independence in the form of a key to their own state-of-the-art mobility apartment, with the safety net of 24 hour a day, seven day a week on site support.

If you are wishing to make a donation in honour someone else's celebration please click here.

All donations made in honour of a special event will be a real cause for celebration for each of our current and prospective tenants who range from their early 20’s upwards and encompass a wide variety of disabilities. In the coming year, as we start work on our seventh development in Bushey, your support will make a greater difference than ever before.

We will be pleased to acknowledge donations made by means of a certificate honouring the celebrants as well as the occasion being commemorated and we will provide regular updates of all donors although we would not as a rule disclose individual donations.

If you would like to register your simcha for celebratory donations, or if you would like to make a donation in honour of someone else’s simcha, please either phone Frankie on 020 8371 6611 or email frankie@jbd.org

"Having my own apartment means that I can shut the door on the world whenever I choose. Because the flat's mine I have been able to decorate it as I like and fill it with my personal belongings. My disabilities mean that I need support and my fear had been that I might end up in a home, instead of which I have a home of my own - my own flat of which I am very proud.”
