We are always looking for people to join one of our existing committees, or to set up a new one. Our committees help organise events and activities that not only raise essential funds but that also often involve new people in the charity. Jewish Blind & Disabled are greateful to all our committee members who dedicate their time and give their support.
In organising the Ladies Lunch this committee not only puts on one of our major annual fundraising activities, they are also the force behind our supper quiz - which has become a must in many a diary.
Young JBD was established in 2008 to introduce young professionals in their 20’s and 30’s to the charity. The Young JBD committee consists of eight young professionals who give of their time and energy for the benefit of Jewish Blind and Disabled.
A group of keen golfers organise a golf day each year, towards the end of August, to raise funds for our unique and vital facilities. Highly competitive as well as great fun, this day is enjoyed by all.
Building work will soon start on our latest development of state-of-the-art mobility apartments in Bushey, Hertfordshire. To date over £8.5m has been raised for this vital project but nearly £2m is still needed to see it through to completion. A special fundraising committee is being established to focus on raising these essential funds through personal contacts and organised events.
