Give Your Time

Giving of yourself is a very special kind of giving and our volunteers play a vital role in creating the warm community atmosphere that exists within all of our buildings. We could not possibly organise the many events and activities, which are so important to the social life of our tenants, without their help and support. We are also very grateful to anyone who can volunteer to help at head office as this enables us to keep our administrative overheads to a minimum, ensuring that donations go to where they will do most good.

We are always looking for volunteers across both North West and North East London to help organise activities and events within each building. Whether you can help on a regular or an occasional basis we would love to hear from you, so please either phone Marilyn on 020 8505 5551 or email her at mh@jbd.org

The events that we offer to our tenants typically include:

  • Breakfasts
  • Lunches
  • Coffee mornings
  • Bingo
  • Quizzes
  • Birthday celebrations
  • Celebrations around Jewish festivals

If you have a particular hobby or interest that you think might appeal we would always be happy to discuss this with you, for example running an art class/creative writing session/bridge club etc.

In addition to these organised events we are also happy to arrange for friendly visiting to individual tenants.

Our head office, which is in Mill Hill East, is always very grateful for anyone willing to volunteer to help with various administrative issues. If you would be happy to be contacted on an ad hoc basis to see if you can help out in this area please either phone Tina on 020 8371 6611 or email her at tina@jbd.org

We are a traditional Jewish family with one difference - our 27 year old son has cerebral palsy. Five years ago Joel moved into Aztec House and this changed all our lives. It has given us peace of mind knowing that our son is in a safe environment where there is always someone available to assist. The future no longer looks bleak and, against all I was told, Joel can be independent to a large degree.
